For more years than I can remember, I've been using electrostatic filters. The ones I've been using are the established type that can be cleaned and reused. This one is disposable. When I put this filter in, the air was clean and fresh. So it indeed works at least as well as my other filters. One thing I noticed is that the sound near the catalog is quieter. That would seem to point headed for that flow is less top secret. That might be the case since the filter has substantially more go up area due to the accordion design that's not predictable in reusable filters. So this one might be more well-organized than the ones I've been using. But the price is steep compared to many electrostatic air filters counting established ones.Don't get me wrong. I like the filter and think it does a great job. It might even go one better than the filter I was using. But I don't think the financial help warrants the price. Perhaps if you live in an area where your AC use is uncommon from mine, it might be cost effectual. If your cooling costs go down, and your air is cleaner, then it might save you money or at least be worth the premium for best air feature. Well, I like this filter but I can't claim that my home smells any best than it did.I switched to the Filtrete strain of filters years ago when I discovered how much best they worked than the cheapie, flimsy filters you can buy anywhere. Possibly my house is excessively dusty, I have to change the filter at the six week mark. I couldn't get the whole promised three months between replacements. But that's a small quibble to get best filtering.So I probable this filter to go as well as, if not best than the mid-priced Filtretes I normally use. And it did, possibly even slightly best as far as dust is worried. Be advised- when I indifferent the plastic wrapper a small quantity of what I presume is charcoal leaked onto the stump.
