I really like that this air cleanser doesn't have any filters that need to be replaced. I take it apart and tint it once every few weeks, and when I wipe down the inside gills, a lot of black stuff (dirt starting the air) comes off. Hence it seems to be doing its job, and on low alacrity it's not extremely loud (just a background "hum".) If you turn up the alacrity, however, it's reasonably loud since it's pulling air through much faster and you can take notice of the internal fans whirring.
