This filter is shorter than the first so they provide a cheap foam spacer to make up the missing area. It also has a bad smell due to some sort of oily solvent on the black rubber sealing surfaces. I will never buy anything from Honeywell again.

I own a Honeywell Enviracaire 50101 True HEPA Air Cleanser. Purchased the substitution filter from an online peddler. A modest dissapointed with the new filters. As with all the additional reviews, this item is much shorter then the before filter that came with the airfilter. Approximately 30% shorter, and comes with a "foam interval filler" that is held to be seats on top of the filter, big in the interval the real filter foliage void. Does the foam have filtering capabilities? Who knows. I purchased an air cleaner to sterile the air in my apartment construction, not a cut of foam to fill in void viods in the air cleaner. Very disapointed.

I be inflicted including a model 50100 Honeywell air cleaner. It uses one of these filters which is woefully too short. They supply a gasket as a spacer to make up the difference which has absolutely no filtering capability. There's now about a 35% loss in air filtering capacity as compared to the original filter. It also gets soil faster.Honeywell has sold thousands of these large filter units that now must be downsized to these short filters. It's obvious to me that reducing the number of filter types in their inventory is more important than a properly functioning air system.I be inflicted including vacuumed this filter as they recommend, and I see very little effectiveness in that. There is a metal screen that prevents my vacuum needle from being paid anywhere near the filter fabric, so it does not clean the filter as they say.I be inflicted including a perfectly fair functioning element for which I paid $85.00 that is now a waste of time! I now be inflicted including to buy a new element, and it most definitely will not be a further Honeywell. If they pulled this once, they will do it again!

I purchased this Honeywell replacement filter develop HRF-D1 to replace the first Honeywell develop 20500 filter in my Honeywell 17007-HD. Annotation that two (2) Honeywell HRF-D1 filters are needed to replace the one first develop 20500 filter that came with the 17007-HD. Unfortunately, Honeywell no longer makes the 20500 filter. You can either use two Honeywell HRF-D1 filters that sit feature-by-feature in the element or buy a 20500 OEM single filter. I've not tried a 20500 OEM single filter (also sometimes called a i205 filter), but per reviews on Amazon, the results are extremely mixed as to whether the filter fits of laughter by the book, quality of the filter, delivery time, condition of the packing/filter when expected starting the shipper, etc. What I have tried is using the two Honeywell HRF-D1 filters. What I like and dislike about this deal with is as follows:Disadvantages:1. The total filter media surface area is reduced by 33% when using the two HRF-D1 filters compared to the first single filter, per my calculations.2. Per all-purpose visual inspection and looking through the HRF-D1 filter with a light source, the HRF-D1 is of slight inferior quality compared to the first single filter.3. Flush if two HRF-D1 filters fit well surrounded by the 17007-HD, I do wonder if air gets through where the two filters meet.4. Oil smell starting the black support rims almost the edges of the filter that I've not noticed on the first filter. Annotation that if you buy the filter before you need it, take it made known of the box, and let it air made known for a couple of weeks, the smell is reduced much.Advantages:1. Two HRF-D1 filters do fit perfectly surrounded by the 17007-HD. As a feature annotation, each HRF-D1 filter comes with a foam gasket that is not needed for the develop 17007-HD; just toss it made known.2. Wrapping the prefilter almost the two HRF-D1 filters is just as easy doing it with one filter and it fits of laughter by the book.In summary, you can go with the first Honeywell manufactured filters knowing you will get on to a decent product that fits of laughter, but also knowing that the filter surface area is reduced, or use a single OEM filter that likely has a larger filter area but reel the dice as to what you will get on to. Annotation; if you do go the single OEM route, it should display it's a replacement for the Honeywell develop 20500 filter. Also annotation that the first Honeywell filter size in the 17007-HD is approximately 10 7/8" (outside circular dimension) x 6 1/4" (inside circular dimension) x 5 3/4" deep. I've seen some OEM 20500 replacement filters with an outside circular dimension up to 11 1/4" and 6" deep; I wonder if that would be too big?

It's too easy to purchase what you need starting Amazon but hell trying to restore the bits and pieces if they're not the aptly fit.I have to Honeywell filters (does not fit my machine) and I can't restore them, WHY!Single heard starting Amazon once subdue waiting to restore product for the aptly size--I don't want the money back.

I ordered this online since I was sick of costs money at Walmart. This filter is just as durable, easy to use and is the constant exact strain as the ones sold at walmart.

As i at the initiation twisted the cleanser on including the extra HEPA filter it was charitable bitter an anomalous smell. So i gone it on HIGH pro a release only any hours including the opportunity dialogue box commence and gone the opportunity to it can air made known. Water supply it didn't and at that calculate i realised including the intention of the half-extra carbon filter smelled terrible so i altered it and currently the air smells bracing sterile. Not compulsory.
