For $40.00 you can buy a new air purifier with a HEPA filter. It certainly stops a draining sinus or gets a dried one flowing. Asthmatics & people with emphysema notice the difference in about 15 minutes with an unenthusiastic ionizer. And, those are NOT the ones that combine both clear ions and unenthusiastic ions or have ozone. I know this as I sold air purifiers for over 25 being. For room air purifiers, if it doesn't have a filter of such as a .3 or .1 micron Hepa, it won't be as well-organized. .1 is the best; but, the airflow will be less or the motor size and fan blast will be more; and, with a much higher price tag. .3 microns is infinitesimal in size and is best for a home or personnel.
